Wimborne town centre

Our Clients’ pretty garden gets bags of sun, but the Clients described the space as boring with nowhere to sit out on sunny days. They had lots of beautiful plants, and productive veg garden, and wanted to reuse as much stock as possible.

Creating zones

The garden is quite long, and overlooked in areas. We wanted to create some shaded seating with privacy, and screen the back doors too.

Bringing the borders up to the main patio allows the planting to be enjoyed from the house, and breakes up the view down the garden.

Planting

Plants were carefully lifted, overwintered, and replanted in a more cohesive scheme.

A few new specimens were added but mostly we reused existing stock

Entertaining space

The existing patio fence was reworked to give better screening and a fresher look. Wires to support climbers were added to give shade in the summer

A new patio sized for 4 people was added with spill over gravel paths that add to the space for larger parties

Zones

The lumpy lawn was refreshed, and is now bordered by deep and interesting beds. This really makes the lawn sing!

A dedicated spring garden allows the Clients favourite plants to put on a show without being overwhelmed by summer planting
