Our Client is an avid art collector, and wanted an easy-care garden where she could display her collection. The brief was for a shaded seating area in the SW facing back garden, with borders for colourful planting. No colours were off limits – and clashing hues was encouraged! The front garden needed to be neat, with planting to soften the front wall. The Client wanted no lawn, but wanted permeable surfaces where possible – the plants can be added to with time.

The plot was a blank canvas, and quite overlooked – the new pergola brought the focus back into the back garden, and it will be smothered with Campsis radicans in a couple of years
